Into the "Second Half of Life".

The unavoidable threshold into the "second half of life" is one of the few experiences all human beings have in common, a turning point whether we like it or not.
There seem to be so many different and distinguishable levels of life and cultural conditions, but we all share our mortality which is some kind of an unifying principle behind all apparent diversity, or even injustice.
It is not about a precise moment in linear time, and not necessarily what is know as the "midlife crisis", but more of a fundamental shift in direction: turning from the thrust into life after birth and the ambitious earlier years towards harvesting, experience, wisdom and eventual retirement and deeper introspection.
There is still considerable creative energy and a recognisable movement towards specific goals and desirable outcomes, but "time" has now clearly a different quality and is becoming more precious. There is an obvious need for prioritising and letting go of inappropriate activities and unrealistic plans. As the body is slowing down, there is hopefully an increasing guidance and wisdom from within to support this transition.
How can you gracefully and with clear intention move into the "second half of life", without trying to maintain an infinite perspective in a finite existence?
"Basically, the first half of life is writing the text, and the second half is writing the commentary on that text." - Richard Rohr
